The Tata Institute of Social Sciences has reached almost 100% placements for their current batch 2012-14. Tata Institute of Social Sciences is a social sciences institute with its main campus based in Deonar, Mumbai, India. TISS also operates out of campuses in Hyderabad, Guwahati and Tuljapur. TISS conducted its Summer Placement Process for the HRM & LR batch of 2013-15, on October 18, and October 19, 2013. The Placement Process was extremely successful with the entire batch of 60 getting placed in 1.5 days.
100% placement is reported for the batch of Human Resource Management (HRM) and Labor Relations (LR). Altogether 56 students out of the total batch of 59 took part in the placements. As per institute sources, three students dropped out of the placements. A total of 36 firms participated in the placement process, out of which 35 extended job offers. None of the students received any international offer though.
All the offers were for HR roles. The top recruiters were Samsung, Accenture, RIL and Citibank, each extending four offers.
IT/IT enabled service placed 23% students. The firms included Aditya Birla Group, RPG Group, Mahindra & Mahindra and IT forms include Accenture, HCL, and Wipro
Engineering and Technology places 16% students. Recruiting firms were like Siemens Philips and Samsung.
FMCG placed 11% students. Nestle, Asian Paints and ITC were the recruiting firms.
Pharmaceutical companies like Ranbaxy, Cipla, and Abbott India placed 11 per cent students
10% students were placed with Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) – place, consulting firms placed 4% and Automobiles companies placed 2%.
The process witnessed the participation of regular recruiters like Asian Paints, Colgate-Palmolive, Deloitte, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Marico, Microsoft, Mondelez, etc. The process also saw a substantial increase in the number of first time recruiters on campus.
Amazon, Bosch Manufacturing, CRISIL, Export Credit Guarantee Corporation (A Govt. of India Enterprise), HCL, Nomura, Philips, RIL and Sab Miller were all first time recruiters.
