Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSI) brings changes to its Admission process

Students First-

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University introduces changes in its admission system this year. The focus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has been to make students the centre of the education system. The university now has a new slogan, ‘Student First,’ which makes it a priority to bring about structural changes so that everything revolves around students.

It is also been reported that for the first year the admission process will be online completely. There will be no offline application this year. The online admission process will be beneficial for the students who have all the way to come to the city for filling applications. The same thing is reported by the institute. Earlier, many applicants had to travel from other cities to apply here. Now, they can access admission forms from anywhere.

 The concept is cost-effective also-

“Apart from eliminating any chances of the sale of brochures in the black market, we will save a high portion of the budget on printing forms,” says vice chancellor Anup Singh Beniwal. “

“Last year, Rs 1 crore was spent on printing brochures, which will be saved this year. This helped us to reduce the cost of the forms from Rs 1,100 to Rs 750. With the process going online, we also expect an increase in the number of applicants from about two lakh last year to about 2.25 lakh this year.”

To encourage meritorious students from the economically weaker section, GGSIPU increased the scholarship amount from Rs three lakh to Rs 1.84 crore.
