It is also intended to help expand the capacity of urban development professionals and elected representatives of urban local bodies in various theoretical and practical aspects of urban planning and development and to develop professional knowledge and skills in formulation , implementation, monitoring and evaluation of urban development projects and programmes,” says Farooquee.

The course: The 32-credit interdisciplinary programme has broadly been divided into five major areas — introduction to urban development; issues and challenges in urban planning and development; dynamics of urban planning and development; monitoring and evaluation of projects and programmes; and development: issues and perspectives.
