IIM-Trichy successfully launches a special post graduate course in human resource management (PGHRM) for especially for working professionals in Chennai.
This programme would be in addition to the post graduate programme in business management for working executives that IIM Trichy has been offering at its Chennai centre for the last two years.
Course Duration: The course will be held over a period of three years with four evening classes in a week.
The idea was to help professionals continue their professional education while working, said IIM Tiruchirappalli director Prafulla Agnihotri at a press meet in Chennai.
Further Agnihotri said, “The first year of the course will have the same syllabus as the postgraduate programme in business management (PGPBM), which we launched two years ago. The next two terms will focus on core concepts and application-based HR courses”
PGPHRM is envisaged as a complete management programme for those who want to create a niche for themselves in a career in human resources.
Professionals who have work experience of three years and more can apply for the course, which is set to begin in July.
The programme will also include a live industry project and electives including employee relations, organisation development and change, HR analytics, employee engagement and global HR and diversity from which students can choose one. The fee for each course is Rs 10 lakh.
The curriculum includes a broad range of general management courses, core conceptual and application based human resources courses, human resources electives and a live industry project.Students have the option of specializing in one of the five human resources sub-specializations – employee relations, organization development and change, human resources analytics, employee engagement and global human resources and diversity.
Placements: As the course is designed for the people who are already working, campus placements will not take place.
The last date for receipt of applications for the third batch of PGPBM and the first batch of PGPHRM is May 5.
Students will be selected based on their CV, performance in a written test and interview. Applicants with valid CAT or GMAT scores are exempted from writing the test.
An interactive session for prospective candidates will be held by the faculty and current students of the course from 11am to 5pm on April 20.
