Trinity College-Dublin is the Ireland’s highest ranked University. Lately, Trinity College Dublin has announced Sports Scholarship and has invited applications for the same. The college is inviting applications for sports Scholarships for full time students who are accepted into Trinity College.
The application can be made by those students have outstanding ability in a particular sport and desire to represent the university in their sport.
Closing date of Application: – Friday, October 03, 2014.
For being eligible for the scholarship, it is mandatory that the students have been offered a place on a degree program at the University earlier.
Scholarship is also open to international students.
Scholarships are awarded on an annual basis and may be renewed for subsequent years dependent on performance. The benefits will be Money Grant; Nutritional workshops; Physiological Assessment/Fitness Testing and follow up training.
Awardees of scholarship will then become an active member of the University sporting club for which the award has been granted.
Once becoming a part of the University club, students get chance for Competing for a University club and at Inter Collegiate competitions also presents the opportunity to be nominated for a university pink, the highest sporting award the University can give.
Each year intervarsity sporting competitions are played against other universities and colleges. Sports scholarship awardees are expected to represent Trinity College at these events, noting that the Sport Clubs Governing Body (DUCAC) subsidies travel and accommodation expenses for representative teams.
To be selected for these Scholarships all applicants must satisfy the normal entry requirements of the University and have been offered a place on a degree program at the University. All applications will be reviewed by the Sports Scholarship Committee.
Short listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview. The Committee meets to review the applications in early November and then short listed candidates are called for interview mid-November.
