Humanities student Kriti Sapra tops Allahabad region, scores 98.2%
It’s not only ICSE and ISC for Lucknow students, they give a good performance in CBSE too. On Wednesday, the CBSE Class XII results were declared.
Scoring 98.2% marks, Kriti Sapra, a humanities student from Manipal Public School, topped the Allahabad region that comprises UP and Uttarakhand. She was on cloud 10th. Celebrating her success, she says Centum in economics comes as biggest surprise. Her parents were overwhelmed with their daughter’s success.
Five students, one from Lucknow shared the second place, scoring 97.65%. Super happy with the result, Reetwik Das, a science student from Army Public School, Nehru Road, Lucknow said, This is completely unexpected.” The other four students who stood second are — Sana Jamal of Sunbeam English School, Lanka Varanasi; Aditya Prakash of St Joseph’s School; Vedika Gupta from Delhi Public School (DPS) Kanpur and Vikasa Solanki, DPS Agra.
Securing 97.4%, the third position was bagged by six students. Of these, three are from Lucknow. Study Hall student Akshita Khanna is from humanities stream, while Oindrila Barik from The Avadh School is a science student and Shubhi Agarwal from Loyola Public School is from commerce stream. Besides, Ravi Dutt Yadav of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Mahoba; Shubham Srivastava of St Michael’s Convent Higher Secondary, Gonda and Arpit Gupta of Kids Corner Happy Senior Secondary School, Firozabad took the third slot.
Allahabad region registered an overall pass percentage of 75.10% this year, which is a good 2.27% increase over last year. Girls outdid boys with 83.69% girls having qualified the exam as against 70.55% boys, said Piush Kumar Sharma, regional officer, Allahabad region.
