More than 2000 students get offer letter from top IT companies


As per news, Over 2000 students from various engineering colleges affiliated with Anna University about to get offer letters from top IT companies like Cognizant Technology Solutions and Infosys.

It is reported that in the academic year 2013-14, nine placement drives were held in Chennai, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore zones through the Anna University’s Centre for University Industry Collaboration (CUIC) in which 24,000 candidates had participated. Out of which, around 2000 students have qualified themselves for top IT companies.

The participants had gone through group discussions, online aptitude and technical tests and an interview to assess their technical knowledge. The selected candidates have qualified for the offer.

The offer letters for Chennai students will be made available at the Prathyusha Institute of Technology and Management in Tiruvalluvar, Friday afternoon. For students of Coimbatore and Triunelveli zone offer letters are distributed at Sri Eshwar College of Engineering in Kondampatti on June 13.

The Director of CUIC, T. Thyagarajan shares that there were four stages of the process to clear. The four steps will do the screening and filtering of the students.

The CUIC had only three recruitment drives the previous year. This year, in spite of the global recession and economic slowdown, the cell managed to increase placements. Moreover, as a matter of fact, only the students of tier 1 college have the advantage of being recruited in top IT companies but however, this time the State-level programme has ensured that opportunities are given to mofussil colleges also mentioned by the director.
