KEA allows changes in CET applications

Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA) has written to higher authorities for students to get permission to change their caste, category and income in their CET applications. Earlier, did not accepted such requests once the applications are submitted but this year the Authority accepts the requests of the students.

The reason behind not accepting changes was once the application was submitted due to complaints of alleged malpractice. But, this year, as the department receives 1000 application for changes, it plans to change the norms.

Another reason to this is some students turned up for Document Verification after the last date because the date mentioned in the brochure was different to the actual last date. Many students were not aware that the last day was June 17th. On this basis, KEA allowed the verification of documents of these students.

This year more colleges were added to the engineering college later on Wednesday.

  •  A total of 216 seats from two engineering colleges – Cauvery Institute of Technology and Jain Acharya Institute – were added. Apart from this, 661 surrendered management seats from private colleges were also added.
  • Around 6,000 seats were added to engineering seat matrix. Around 240 seats were added from Cauvery Institute of Technology and Jain Acharya Institute of Technology. Further, 5,751 seats surrendered by 66 private colleges were also added.

PGCET: There will be a single entrance test for admission to MBA and MCA from this year. Students applying under management quota through PGCET will be given only scores and need not appear for counseling conducted by the consortium.
