Here are the three places where the medical colleges will come up. One is near Tollygunge in Kolkata, other at Krishnanagar in Nadia and Cooch Behar town in Cooch Behar district.
The colleges will be based on public-private partnership.
Partnership and joining hands-
The Techno group will also partner in Kolkatta while The Camellia Group will join hands with the state government for the projects at Krishnanagar and Cooch Behar reports Health Secretary Malay De.
The respective land for the colleges have been allotted. For colleges coming at Krishnanagar and Cooch Behar, two years deadline has been given to turn the place into full-fledged medical colleges.
It is in the news that the state government soon would float tenders. E-tenders will be invited to private players to bid for diagnostic centres for government hospitals and services like CT scan, dialysis and MRI. The bidding process is also open for Medical equipment manufacturers.
Online counselling for MBBS and BDS seats through WBJEEM has already started.
Out of 63,330 examinees, Some 4,433 students this year qualified the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination entrance (Medical) exam. The first round of counselling has to be completed by June 25 according to the Supreme Court orders to MCI.
