Ph.D programme in Engineering Science-
For the students of M.E/M.Tech, The Institute of Plasma Research (IPR) Gandhinagar announces admission to Ph.D programme 2014. M.E/M.Tech from Nuclear Engineering/Nuclear Science and Technology.
IPR has initiated this new Ph.D programme in Engineering Sciences‚ which is extremely challenging in view of interdisciplinary state of the art technologies. For the motivated candidates‚ it offers considerable scope to realize their potential while simultaneously contributing to the important task of nation building in this highly specialized area.
Applications are hereby invited from M.E./M.Tech (Nuclear Engineering / Nuclear Science & Technology) students for pursuing research in Engineering Science discipline leading to the award of Ph.D degree under Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI).
Qualifying Degree and other academic qualifications:
Candidates should possess M.E./M.Tech or equivalent degree in Nuclear Engineering / Nuclear Science & Technology disciplines with a minimum 60% marks OR equivalent CGPI (converted to % Marks by multiplying with 100/x if the CGPA is on x points scale) in M.E/M.Tech Students should also have minimum 60% marks in their graduate/postgraduate degree prior to M.E./M.Tech.
Students qualifying for degree and waiting results till 1st August 2014 can also apply.
Age limit: 28 years is the age limit. Only those candidates who are born on or after 01st Aug 1986 need apply. Age relaxation is admissible to SC/ST/OBC/PHP/etc. as per Govt of India orders on the subject.
Age limit for SC/ST is relaxed by 5 years and 3 years for OBC applicants. For the Physically Handicapped Person (PHP) it is eligible after a relaxation of 10 years.
Eligible candidates will be called on 30th July by the IPR for a written screening test and the travel allowance will be paid.
The short-listed candidates will have to go through a Personal Interview (P.I) on the same day of written screening and the interview can also take another day depending on the number of short-listed candidates.
Final selection will be solely on the basis of performance in interview subject to medical fitness.
