MBA and MCA are one of the most desired professional courses. Many students rush to graduate with these courses soon as the completion of their bachelors but this year the situation seems to be different. The most sought after professional courses loose their charm as 14000 seats of these courses remain vacant in Gujarat. Bad news is there were only 9,379 registrations against 23,461 seats available.
Officials informed that a total of 9,554 forms were sold and only 9,379 students registered. Of these, 9,102 students got their documents verified at helpline centres.
Officials said that last year, 10,400 students had taken admission and around 50% of seats were left vacant. This year there will be more than 14,000 vacant seats. On one hand the seats remain vacant and on the other hand more colleges have applied and received affiliation. This year with two new colleges opening, the intake capacity has risen to 23,461 seats.
- The provisional merit list will be declared on 12th July, 2014
- First mock round will be held between July 14 and July 17
- Results of the mock round will be declared on 19th July
Officials said that this year too the number of vacant seats could be more than 14,000, as all registered students will not be take the admission if they do not it in the college of their choice.
