Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) opens its admissions for Diploma in Journalism

The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), set up by the Government of India is one of India’s premier institute for training, teaching and research in mass communication. The late Smt. Indira Gandhi, the then Minister in charge of Information and Broadcasting, formally inaugurated the Institute on 17 August 1965.

Courses like print journalism, photo journalism, radio journalism, television journalism, development communication, communication research, advertising and public relations are taught at the IIMC.

It also offers Diploma Course in Development Journalism for non-aligned and developing countries. The institute was basically set up to provide training to the officers of the Indian Information Service. The institute also conducts each year a number of specialised short-term courses to meet the training needs of media personnel working in government and public sector organizations.

The Duration of the course is from November 2014 to April 2015.

Eligibility– Bachelor’s degree in any discipline. Good Knowledge of Urdu.

Total intake: 25 students

Entrance Exam: Entrance Exam will be held on 24th August 2014 at At IIMC‚ Aruna Asaf Ali Marg‚ JNU New Campus‚ New Delhi-110067.

Interview: Interviews are expected to be conducted in the second week of September. Dates will updated on the IIMC website.
