PGPEX explained

 With the increase in the working population and executive courses, the focus and the institutes providing the executive courses are increasing. Post graduate programmes for executives are specially designed to meet the need of the industry’s current scenario and thus they prove to be helpful to the working professionals. The course demands a compulsory work experience.

Lately, Indian Institute of Management (IIM-C) arranged an open house where the applicants can sought out their queries regarding the course. The session was held in five cities namely- Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Kolkata.

The event included a brief session describing the test Graduate Management Aptitude test, which is compulsory to attain admission in PGPEX.

PGPEX is a full time residential programme for the working professionals. It is a one year programme requires at least five years of work experience. Rama Seth, professor of Finance and Control says that students come from diverse backgrounds and many times the degree is helpful for transition in other industry.

The student intake is 50 seats. The course can be self-funded as well as facilitated by a loan.

The course proves to be helpful because as the people are in there mid-career, they can add up new things to their existing portfolio as well as revaluate it. They can also transit in a new or different industry. Further,as per reports the placements are better and statistics show that students undergoing the programme got hike in their earnings. The programme intends to upgrade the knowledge of people who are already in a managerial position.

The coursework includes an international immersion module. 

This year students are going to visit the Mannheim Business School, Germany, and the Ashridge Business School, UK, for two weeks in July. 

The application deadline for PGPEX 2015 is August 31.
