University of Madras opens its MA Admissions

The University of Madras, Chennai has invites applications for admissions to Masters of Arts (MA) programme in Bharathanatyam and Rhythmology.

Duration of the course is two years. The programme will run under the private study (CBCS pattern) offered in the Department of Indian Music.

Last date for application is 30th August 2014.

Eligibility criteria:

For MA in Bharathanatyam programme: The candidates should possess a BA/BSc or B.Com degree. Also, the candidates should have acquired five years of teaching experience or they should have acquired a diploma in dance from Madras University or equivalent.

For MA in Rhythmology programme: The candidates applying for this programme should possess any degree from the University of Madras. Also, the candidates should have acquired five years of teaching experience or any other equivalent degree.

How to apply:

The candidates can collect the application forms either in person or by post.

Issue of application form in person: The application form can be obtained in person from the Information Centre, University of Madras, Chennai – 600 005 on payment of Rs 200 on production of attested photo copy of the Community certificate) by cash.

Issue of application form by post: Those who want to obtain application by post have to send a written requisition specifying the name of the programme together with a demand draft for a sum of Rs 250 for Rs 200 towards cost of application and Rs 50 towards postage) drawn in favour of “The Registrar, University of Madras, Chennai-5”.

The candidates can also download the application forms online. In such cases, the candidates are required to send a demand draft of Rs 200 along, else the applications will be rejected.
