The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is a Board of Education for public and private schools, under the Union Government of India.
CBSE got known from the year 1952 covering major states of India which started from Uttar Pradesh in the year 1921. CBSE affiliates all Kendriya Vidyalayas, all Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas, private schools and most of the schools approved by central government of India.
This time the CBSE is concerned with the number of girls opting for engineering. It is a matter of concern to the board that lesser number of girl students are in engineering. Therefore, they come up with the project Udaan.
What is Udaan-
Udaan is a project launched by CBSE to mentor 1000 girls which is equivalent to 50% seats earmarked for girl students from SC/ST/backward classes to complete education at premier colleges.
The project will provide free of cost training to the students of class XI and XII to prepare them for JEE (Joint Entrance Exam), an entrance exam for getting admission in engineering. The project will be both in offline and online mode.
Science students from any board who have scored a minimum 70% in class X and 80% in science and math and 75% in physics, chemistry, and mathematics in class can apply.
The last date for application is October 27.
