IIM Kozhikode will host 2nd pan-IIM World Management Conference

It has been in news that the second pan IIM World Management Conference will be hosted by the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode. The event is organized by the 13 IIMs across the country. It is supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.

IIM-Kozhikode is ranked among the top five institutes of the world. It will host the prestigious conference where 250 experts will take part.

Date: November 5th to November 8th.

The theme of the conference would be ‘Globalizing Indian Thought’.

Last year also, IIM made headlines when the entire cabinet led by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy attended a day long brain storming session conducted by the faculty here.

The director of IIM Kozhikode,Kulbhushan Balooni says that the IIMs have different functional and sectoral expertise, region specific industry access and clout as well as understanding of local practices.

He also says that collectively IIMs can emerge as a formidable force in exploring newer frontiers of management science. The west is increasingly interested today in decoding the phenomena in emerging markets

Apart from IIM professors, the conference will also invite experts from Wharton Business School, ESCP Paris, policy makers and leaders from Indian industry, who would share their thoughts on Indian management and how it can impact global business.

Saji Gopinath, conference co-chair and dean academic, IIM Kozhikode, said that the world knows that IIMs attract and churn out the best talent. He also says the time, for IIMs, has come to not only provide talent to the world but also shape future management thinking by producing world-class research
