University of Calcutta invites application for admission in MBA (Finance) 2015


University of Calcutta (CU), Kolkata has invited application for admission to two-year Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme in Finance offered at the Department of Commerce for the session 2015-17.

About the College-

The University of Calcutta also known as Calcutta University or CU is a public state University located in Kolkata, West Bengal. Within India it is recognized as a Five Star University and a Centre with Potential for Excellence by the University Grants Commission and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Nobel Laureates like Rabindranath Tagore, C.V.Raman, Amritya Sen and Ronald Ross are also associated with the University. The university has total 14 campuses spread over the city of Kolkata and its suburbs.

The application forms will be available from November 10, 2014.


Candidates should have bachelor’s degree with honours in Arts/Science/Commerce or a bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology/medical science/law/professional course or its equivalent from any university recognised by the University of Calcutta.

How to Apply:

Candidates can obtain the application form from university’s website starting from November 10 onwards. Candidates may download the application form including the prospectus and send it by post, along with a demand draft of Rs 1,000 payable in Kolkata, in favour of “Coordinator, MBA in Finance, Calcutta University”.

Selection Procedure

Selection will be based on an overall score of the following:

Past academic achievements: 100 marks

CAT or MAT: 50 marks

Group Discussion (GD): 20 marks

Interview: 20 marks

Work experience: 10 marks

Important Dates

  • Issue and receipt of application forms: November 10, 2014 to January 30, 2015.
  • List of eligible candidates: February 27, 2015.
  • Admit cards (for GD & PI) to be distributed: March 17, 2015.
  • Date of GD/viva: April 3, 2015.
