Applications are invited by Anna University – Centre for Distance Education (AU-CDE), Chennai for admission to distance Master of Computer Application (MCA) program for the commencing session 2015.

Eligibility Criteria for Anna University CDE:

  • Candidates should pass in any bachelor degree.
  • The candidate should have studied mathematics/statistics as one of the subjects at the degree level or Mathematics at HSC level.
  • A pass in distance education entrance test (DEET) conducted by the CDE Anna University, Chennai.
  • Candidates who have a TANCET score are exempted from DEET.

  • The application form and prospectus can be downloaded from their official website.
  • The filled application form along with demand draft of Rs. 650/- drawn in favor of The Director, Centre for Distance Education, Anna University payable at Chennai should be submitted to the admission office.

  • Candidates will be selected on the basis of their performance in DEET.

3 students from IIT-B scored 100 percentile in CAT

7th National HR Conference on “Social HR and Technological Applications in HR” at XLRI

XLRI – Xavier School of Management organises the 7th National HR Conference themed “Social HR and Technological Applications in HR”.

The event will be held on 10th and 11th January, 2015 at XLRI Campus, Jamshedpur.

It is in news that industry leaders and prominent academicians are expected to join the event. They are going to discuss on topic of HR and what HR is today. About WBJEEM-

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEM) 2015 is an entrance examination conducted for the admission to undergraduate (UG) courses of Bachelor of Engineering (BE)/Bachelor of Technology (B Tech)/Bachelor of Architecture (B Arch)/Bachelor of Pharmacy (B Pharm) as well as Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)/Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) offered by colleges and universities in the state of West Bengal.

The exam for 2015 will be held on April 18 and 19, 2015.

Exam schedule-

  • On April 18th 2015, Biological Sciences (150 marks) timings will be 1pm to 4 pm.
  • On April 19th 2015, Mathematics (100 marks) timings will be 12 noon to 2 pm and Physics- Chemistry (100 marks) timings-3pm to 5 pm

Questions will be based on the published syllabus for WBJEEM 2015.

In every subject, all questions will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ-type, with four options against each of the questions) and the answer(s) to each of the questions has to be marked on the OMR.

The paper pattern for the WBJEEM 2015 is as follows:

The examination will be conducted on three papers: Biological Science, Mathematics, and Physics & Chemistry (Combined).

Each paper will be of MCQ type containing three categories of questions.
Category 1
Only one option is correct, correct response will yield one mark Only one option is correct, correct response will yield one mark.
For incorrect response, 25 % of full mark (1/4) would be deducted and
For more than one answer indicated against a particular question in the OMR sheet; the said answer will be treated as incorrect response/answer.

District judge recruitment

The preliminary written exam for the post of district judge was held on December 7th, 2014. The Bombay High Court has announced result of preliminary written examination for recruitment to the post of district judge. A total of 174 candidates have qualified the preliminary written exam. The list is out on the official website of Bombay High court.

The eligibility of the candidates will now be finally decided after scrutiny of the applications, verification of documents and testimonials at the time of viva-voce, and appearance at the written examination does not imply that the candidate is eligible for appointment to the post of District Judge.

The dates for Viva voce will be announced soon. Qualified Candidates are requested to regularly check the official website of High Court of Bombay regularly.

The High Court of Bombay, which is the chartered High Court and one of the oldest High Courts in the Country. It has Appellate Jurisdiction over the State of Maharashtra, Goa, Daman & Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. In addition to the Principal Seat at Bombay, it has benches at Aurangabad, Nagpur, Panaji(Goa).

Online CLAT-2015 Exam schedule and paper pattern

The exam schedule for Indian level law exam which is Common Law Admission Test (CLAT 2015) is out. The organizing institute for the exam is Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University, Lucknow (RMLNLU). Moreover, The Online admissions for this exam, which is set to go online for the first time, will start on 1st January, 2015.

This year, the number of test cities has been increased to 42 from 20 for CLAT 2014. 16 law schools/ universities will be accepting CLAT 2015 scores (up from 15 last year.)

No subjective questions this time-

Since CLAT 2015 is going online for the first time, there would be slight changes in the exam pattern, especially for the LL.M program’s CLAT. There will only be objective questions for the online CLAT, hence no more subjective questions for CLAT 2015 (for post graduate law courses).

Duration of the test: 2 hours

200 multiple questions of 1 mark each.

Following are the subjects and their respective weightage-

  • English including Comprehension: 40 Marks
  • General Knowledge/ Current Affairs: 50 Marks
  • Elementary Mathematics (Numerical Ability):20 Marks
  • Legal Aptitude: 50 Marks
  • Logical Reasoning: 40 Marks

Please note: – There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer.

BITS Hyderabad to enroll foreign students for the first time

A well known college at Hyderabad named Birla Institute of Technology and Science Pilan will start admission for foreign students from next year onwards. Now, the course is not limited to local students only. However, this time it will be the first year for such student intake and the number of seats open will e 50 initially. By this decision, the institute increases its chances of getting featured in the global rankings.

The foreign students can also get admission in the several undergraduate programmes in August 2015. In the later year , Pilani and the Goa Campus of BITS will also start admissions for foreign students. Moreover, as per the officials, this option is open to the students with non-Indian passports only. Since BITS offers international quality education, the institute has a superior eco-system to accommodate global students. To start with, more focus will be given to students from South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations.

The Hyderabad campus has been selected as the first campus of BITS to offer admission to foreign students due to its international standard facilities, cosmopolitan culture as well as presence of global firms. BITS Hyderabad will not compromise on its standard just to admit foreign students.

The hostel accommodation will be common to both, Indian students as well as the foreign students so that the foreign students can better understand the Indian culture.There will not be more than 15% foreign students in each class, as per the officials.

Admission Process-

Admission into BITS Hyderabad for the foreign students will be based on their Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores as well as SAT subject scores, with at least 75% in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry at plus two level and not less than 60% in each of them. The admitted students can avail tuition waivers of 30% to 80% based on merit.

BITS plans to boost student admissions in all its campuses from the present 12,000 to 18,000 in a phased way. Moreover, it aims to place more emphasis on research and entrepreneurship. The research areas will include matters of international relevance also. Its visions include improving infrastructure and striking collaborations with top global institutes. BITS Pilani had bagged the 90th spot among the institutes based in BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) countries.
