Interviews start after the release of the results of IIM-A written test

We all are aware of the admission process to the management program of IIMs which includes written test and Personal Interview (PI). The admission process to the full time two year management program for the batch 2015-17 is going on at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)- Ahmedabad.

For which, the institute is done with the results of the Academic Writing Test (AWT) and now the list has been prepared on the basis of the Common Admission Test 2014 (CAT 2014) valid scores. Short-listing has also been done on the basis of Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores in needful cases. The list was out on the date December 27th 2014. The other factor is the Application Rating (AR) score, which is derived on the basis of the candidates’ academic performance in the 10th standard, 12th standard as well as Bachelors’ Degree examinations. In order to shortlist the performers across diverse academic backgrounds, from each of the five categories of academic disciplines, the top 50 candidates or top 1% of the number of applicants to IIM Ahmedabad, whichever is lesser, have been shortlisted for AWT & PI on the basis of their CAT percentiles.

To access this list , view the official website of common admission test. Overall 1,249 candidates (CAT: 1239 and GMAT: 10) have been shortlisted for the AWT-PI process at IIM Ahmedabad for 2015-17 admissions.

The students will have interview for getting the admission in PGP 2015-17. IIM Ahmedabad will conduct its AWT and PIs in Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and New Delhi/NCR. Candidates short-listed for AWT and PI will be intimated by registered post. The CAT takers applying to IIM Ahmedabad’s PG programs can also check if they have been short-listed for AWT & PI by visiting the official website.

Final Selection: Selection at this stage will strictly be based on the ranks of the candidates computed separately for each category (General/SC/ST/OBC NCL, Transgender/DA) on the basis of their Composite Scores (CS). The numbers selected in different categories will be in proportions mandated by law.

The CS of a candidate who appears in AWT & PI will be computed using the following rule:

First, CAT, AWT and PI scores of a candidate are normalized by dividing it with the corresponding maximum possible score that could be obtained. The CS of a candidate is then obtained as:

CS = 0.50 (Normalized PI Score) + 0.10 (Normalized AWT Score) + 0.40 (Normalized CAT Total Score).
