14 new Undergraduate colleges coming up in Mumbai

As per news, Mumbai is likely to get 14 new colleges from the coming academic session. The initiative is taken to facilitate students with to facilitate students with admissions to various undergraduate programmes resultantly improving the quality of state education.

The approval for adding 14 new colleges is accepted .The University of Mumbai has approved applications for setting up of 14 new colleges which are likely to start the new academic session offering various innovative courses at the undergraduate level. Having received rigorous scrutiny of 57 applications, the university will be commencing the admission processes at these colleges only after the state government’s approval.

Moreover, of the 228 applications received from existing colleges to offer new courses or add more divisions, only 70 were forwarded to the government by the university. After studying vacancies in existing courses and colleges’ requirement in given geographic locations, the decision of setting up of new colleges offering innovative courses was taken in the management council meeting last year.

An official from the university claimed that the most innovative courses that were pointed out were job-oriented. Some of these courses included B.Com in Financial Management, Investment Management and Transport Management, B.Sc with subjects like Interdisciplinary Science and Human Science, etc., which will help students in getting jobs in the present industrial scenario.

                While pursuing such innovative programmes, students will also get to learn modules of other subjects like law and commerce or psychology and sociology, along with core science subjects. This will enable them to apply for jobs in multiple industries at the same time.
